"US foundries really have great resources to cut costs and become more productive", says Mr. Neil Chaudhry, VP Business Development, buyCASTINGS Inc. Sawbrook Steel Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, through buyCASTINGS, assembled a team of industry experts in energy, casting technology, lean manufacturing, and thermal processing last year and were awarded a contract by the Department of Energy to do a comprehensive plant wide assessment. The assessment will look at energy, environmental, and productivity issues with the
goal of cutting costs, streamlining operations, and reducing overhead, material, and operational costs of the 110,000 sq. ft foundry. buyCASTINGS will manage the 7-month project.
