First Investment foundry to receive AS9100 Certification |
Kovatch celebrated their 25th anniversary last year and is proud to be the first investment foundry in the world to achieve certification to the AS9100 standard (an equivalent of QS9000 for the aerospace industry). Kovatch is also an ISO 9000 certified facility as well as NADCAP, Boeing, and MIL Standard 45208 certified. Kovatch Castings makes precision investment castings for aerospace, military as well as industrial customers. Their focus is thin wall, close tolerance hardware components where fine surface finishes are required. Kovatch casts over 100 different alloys including stainless, cobalt, nickel base, carbon steel, tool steel, as well as brass, bronze and aluminum alloys. Kovatch has recently expanded their 40,000 square foot facility to house a new state-of-the-art robotic automated shell building system. Kovatch has also purchased land and building adjacent to the existing facility to handle future growth, expansion and diversification. Kovatch already is capable of producing in-house tooling, machining of castings, and doing non-destructive testing. Kovatch is highly skilled and focused on hot and cold straightening to provide very close dimensional tolerance. They have also added automation in grinding, cleaning and measuring operations.
